A Season of Focus: Medical Coding Educator, Growing Into OB/GYN Billing & Coding Expertise

Allow me to reintroduce myself—because while some of you may know me, my focus and direction have become much clearer in this season.

My name is Aisha Heard, and I am an educator, trainer, mentor, and medical billing and coding professional with over 25 years of experience in healthcare and 15 years specializing in medical billing and coding. My background includes auditing, education, hands-on coding work and physician support, with a strong focus in OB/GYN, Neurology, Family and Internal Medicine.

My path hasn’t always been strategic or organized, but each experience contributed to the professional I am today.

What has remained consistent is my commitment to learning, teaching, and supporting others as they navigate this field. Over time, that commitment has evolved into a clearer purpose: to continue growing into focused expertise within my niche while helping aspiring and seasoned medical coders build confidence, competence, and sustainable careers.

This year, my focus is intentional.

I am honing my expertise in OB/GYN medical billing and coding while positioning myself for opportunities that allow me to fully utilize my education, certifications, and experience—both in practice and in education. At the same time, I remain deeply committed to educating and supporting the coding community through structured training, mentorship, and practical resources.
